Textile Art
Line & colour.
I work with needle, thread and fabric because I can feel it - with my hands and my heart. It is the medium learned at the side of my grandmother and mother for creations both utilitarian and artful. Because of this I feel embraced, safe and at ease when I work with textiles.
Line and color are key to my work which expresses and interprets moments in time, experiences and places. I also explore opposing ideas like tame and wild, order and chaos, freedom and constraint.
In my process, I plan and then give way to spontaneity and wonder in a celebration of imperfection and as a reminder to let go.
