Kristi Farrier is a hand papermaker and textile artist. Using local raw materials including repurposed textiles, flax and other natural fibres, Kristi brings to life traditional techniques to create beautiful and unique handmade papers. She also employs contemporary methods to build paper sculptures and pulp paintings. In her textile practice, Kristi transforms fabric, thread, paint and dye into dynamic abstract art works celebrating colour and line. Kristi works out of Flying Finch Studio located in the beautiful Middle River valley of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
